Harry Wilson tipped winners at 7-4, 4-1 and 6-1 on Friday - he tackles every ITV race and the full Doncaster card on Leger day

Harry Wilson is back with his advice for all seven races on day three of the St Leger festival on Saturday, plus the two ITV races at Chester . . .

1.50 Doncaster
Betfred Champagne Stakes (Group 2), 7f

Harry's tip: Wolf Of Badenoch

Wolf Of Badenoch created a fine impression when coming from last to first on his debut over course and distance in June and the form looks solid, given the runner-up has won since and placed in Listed company. He bettered that performance when second in the Vintage Stakes at Glorious Goodwood in July, when looking green for much of the race but staying on strongly in the final furlong. That form, which was boosted by the third-placed Cool Hoof Luke taking the Gimcrack since, makes him a standout in this race and I can't believe he's not favourite.

2.05 Chester
Virgin Bet Stand Cup Stakes (Listed Race), 1m4½f

Harry's tip: Al Qareem

This looks to be a battle between recent heavy-ground Hamilton handicap winner La Yakel and last year's winner Al Qareem. The former is unexposed for a five-year-old and open to improvement, but this track suited the latter very well when accounting for subsequent Group 1 winner Bluestocking 12 months ago and he's likely to get the run of the race in front.

Betfred Portland, 5½f

Harry's tip: Albasheer

Albasheer was a massive eyecatcher in the Beverley Bullet last time, flying home from the rear and narrowly failing to reel in a winner who made all. He achieved a career-best Racing Post Rating on turf that day and should be a major player back in a handicap, given he scored in that company off this mark at Newcastle in March. He's effective over six furlongs but has a much better record over five, recording form figures over that trip of 19212 (ninth was in a Group 2 on heavy ground), and he could be very well suited to this intermediate trip. He's going to get a good pace to aim at and if getting the gaps, should be bang there.

2.40 Chester
Livescore Bet Watergate Cup, 2m

Harry's tip: Tashkhan

Tashkhan hasn’t been at his best this year but has yet to tackle soft ground, which he is clearly at his best on, and he is now 1lb lower than when following victory in this race with a close third in the Cesarewitch off a huge weight. He was a comfortable winner of his sole start outside of Group company on heavy ground, is unbeaten at Chester and has probably been targeted at this race for a while.

3.00 Doncaster
Betfred Park Stakes (Group 2), 7f

Harry's tip: Poet Master

Poet Master makes his first start since his breathtaking success in the Minstrel Stakes when last seen in July. That performance puts him top in this field on official ratings and the form looks rock-solid, given the second, third and sixth filled the first three positions in a Group 3 next time. The son of Lope De Vega is becoming a seven-furlong specialist (5-6), with his sole defeat coming on the fastest ground he’s encountered, and the fact we haven’t seen him since July is no worry, given he has a perfect record when returning from a break. He could be the new force in the division.

3.40 Doncaster
Betfred St Leger Stakes (Group 1), 1m6½f

Harry's tip: Deira Mile (each-way)

There doesn't look to be a great deal between the runners and Deira Mile looks seriously underestimated. He ended his juvenile season with a fine fourth behind Ancient Wisdom in the Futurity Trophy and confirmed that promise when scoring on his first start as a three-year-old at Windsor. He took his form to a new level when outrunning odds of 25-1 to finishing fourth in the Derby at Epsom and although beaten on his sole start since, the tactical nature of that small field didn’t play to his strengths. He looks to be crying out for this extra distance and with a good pace assured, he could cause a minor shock.

4.15 Doncaster
PJ Towey Construction Handicap, 1m2f

Harry's tip: Mr King

Mr King was the only one to make serious inroads from the rear in the Clipper Handicap at York's Ebor meeting and was no stronger than at the finish, beaten just two and half lengths into seventh. That was his first start for Iain Jardine, having been bought for 80,000gns out of Ger Lyons yard, who he showed plenty of good form for, including over this longer trip. Jamie Spencer, having just his second ride for Jardine, is an eyecatching jockey booking

4.50 Doncaster
British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes, 1m

Harry's tip: New York Minute

John and Thady Gosden have won the last two runnings, which makes Valedictory of immediate interest, while 400,000gns buy Ride The Thunder showed plenty of promise on his debut, but the one who catches the eye on paper is New York Minute. Bought for €400,000 at Goffs Orby Book 1 yearling sales, the son of Wootton Bassett is a half-brother to five winners, including Grade 2 scorer The Grey Wizard and juvenile Listed winner Fancy Man. Ralph Beckett has a good strike-rate with two-year-olds and can enhance that record here.

5.25 Doncaster
Cepac 25th Year Anniversary Handicap, 1m

Harry's tip: Ouzo

Three-year-olds have a good record in this and the pick of that age group is Glorious Goodwood runner-up Native Warrior, but I'm not sure any of them are particularly well ahead of their mark and so I'll take them on with Ouzo, who shaped well over an inadequate 7f last time. He equalled his career-best RPR of 108 that day but was dropped 1lb and now runs off the same mark as when winning in Meydan in February and is certain to relish the extra distance here.
