Harry Wilson struck with 28-1 and 9-2 winners on Tuesday - find out his tips for all ten races live on ITV4 on Friday
Harry Wilson had two winners in his last column and is back with his advice for all ten races live on ITV4 from York, Newmarket and Chepstow on Friday . . .
1.30 York
William Hill Top Price Guarantee Autumn Handicap, 1m
Harry's tip: Thunder Roar
Thunder Roar is a proper soft-ground specialist, with form figures in those conditions or worse of 213112324. He was a good third at Leicester in April in a race that has worked out well, with the winner placing in a Group 3 and the second landing a Listed race since, and he has run well returned to those conditions the last twice, looking unlucky not to win a handicap at Haydock before running better than the result suggested when fourth at Ascot last time. He's officially 3lb well-in and this course winner looks underestimated in the market with conditions to suit.
1.47 Newmarket
Newmarket Academy Godolphin Beacon Project Cornwallis Stakes (Group 3), 5f
Harry's tip: The Strikin Viking
I'm willing to forgive The Strikin Viking for a poor run in the Gimcrack in August, as he overraced and set too fast a pace for the closers to capitalise on, and he sets the standard on his two runner-up efforts in the Railway Stakes and Richmond. He handled cut in the ground when an impressive winner on his debut and could prove hard to peg back on this drop to 5f.
2.05 York
British EBF £100,000 Final, 7f
Harry's tip: Stratusnine
Amiloc is the highest rated in the field and is best off at these weights, but the drop back to 7f doesn't look ideal and Stratusnine, who has lots of good form, is preferred. He was a huge eyecatcher on his debut here in May, finishing strongly to split Arabie and Simmering, who have both won Group races since. He hasn't really improved on that in two starts since, albeit the form of his win last time out was franked when the runner-up placed in the Richmond, but the step up in trip should suit based on his pedigree and he may improve for getting back on an easier surface.
2.25 Newmarket
Godolphin Lifetime Care Oh So Sharp Stakes (Group 3), 7f
Harry's tip: Flight
The unbeaten runners are unexposed and big dangers but Flight's May Hill third is strong form, with the winner and runner-up first and second in the betting for the Fillies' Mile. She only gave best inside the final furlong and could be suited by the return to 7f, over which she comfortably saw off a subsequent winner on her penultimate start.
2.40 York
William Hill Finale Handicap, 1m6f
Harry's tip: The Reverend
Master Builder and The Reverend both looked ahead of their marks when winning comfortably on the same day last month, but preference is for the latter, who looks the better handicapped of the pair off revised marks. The Reverend had already shown promise on soft ground, winning a heavy-ground novice at Newmarket last year and finishing a close second when trying to concede 6lb to a well-bred Gosden newcomer, who is now rated 105, at Hamilton in August, before demolishing the field at Ascot last time. A 9lb rise appears more than fair and he looks a Group performer in the making.
3.00 Newmarket
Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards Challenge Stakes (Group 2), 7f
Harry's tip: Shouldvebeenaring
Royal Scotsman likes Newmarket and is of interest after his Derby day win, but there is lots of pace on and he may struggle to repeat those front-running tactics. Shouldvebeenaring and Vetiver, third and fourth in the Park Hill last time, will benefit from a fast pace and marginal preference is for the former, who is a course-and-distance winner and has run some huge races in defeat this year.
3.15 Chepstow
Unibet Persian War Novices' Hurdle (Grade 2), 2m3½f
Harry's tip: Handlethekettle
Ryan's Rocket probably deserves to be favourite, but not a lot separates the field on RPRs and I'm tempted by Handlethekettle, who got off the mark on his stable debut for Jamie Snowden last month. That form isn't anything special, albeit it was done no harm by a subsequent win for the runner-up, but his hurdling debut second in Ireland is strong, with the winner looking very smart when comfortably seeing off a 128-rated rival at Galway on his next start. He's entitled to come on for his latest run after a break and a reproduction of that debut effort might be enough, with the step up in trip sure to suit.
3.35 Newmarket
bet365 Fillies' Mile (Group 1), 1m
Harry's tip: Desert Flower
Desert Flower created a fine impression on her debut at Newmarket in July, going clear of two subsequent winners when meeting the rising ground despite being plenty green throughout, and couldn't have been more impressive when following up under a penalty at the same course in August. She saw out the mile really well when beating the reopposing January by more than a length in the May Hill last time and can confirm herself a serious prospect for next year's 1,000 Guineas here.
3.50 Chepstow
Unibet Veterans' Handicap Chase, 2m7½f
Harry's tip: Wayfinder
Last year's winner Good Boy Bobby warrants plenty of respect, but tackling another veterans' race might see course specialist Wayfinder bounce back to form. All four of his chase wins have been gained at this track, the latest over this distance off 2lb lower, and a couple of runs last season would make him a standout, notably chasing home subsequent runaway Welsh National winner Nassalam in December, while he has a good record when fresh.
4.10 Newmarket
bet365 Old Rowley Cup Handicap, 1m4f
Harry's tip: Mount Atlas
Mount Atlas got off the mark at the third attempt at Redcar in May, form that has been franked by a few in behind, and proved himself well handicapped when scoring a shade cosily on his handicap debut at Ascot in July. The form couldn't have worked out better, with subsequent wins for the second, third, fifth and sixth, and a 7lb rise could underestimate him.
