Harry Wilson found a winner on day one of the St Leger meeting - find out his tips for every race on day two at Doncaster

Harry Wilson found May Hill winner Desert Flower on day one at Doncaster and is back with his advice for all eight races on day two of the St Leger festival on Friday . . .

1.50 Doncaster
Betfred Mallard Handicap, 1m6½f

Harry's tip: Shadow Dance

Barring a blip after a long break at Royal Ascot in June when he wasn't quite right, Shadow Dance has posted progressive Racing Post Ratings on each start since tackling 1m4f, latterly scoring at York's Ebor meeting at the expense of a thriving rival. He's gone up 5lb for that win, but he's still unexposed after just eight starts and could unlock further improvement tackling a trip this far for the first time, given he's a half-brother to heavy-ground 2m1f bumper winner. He was beaten just a half-length by Alsakib, who is rated 14lb higher, the last time he encountered ground softer than good, so he won't be fazed by conditions either.

Betfred Flying Scotsman Stakes (Listed Race), 7f

Harry's tip: Jonquil

Symbol Of Honour sets a good standard on his close sixth in the Coventry, but Jonquil wasn't far off that level based on RPRs when overcoming significant interference two furlongs out to win on his debut in a Sandown maiden two weeks ago. He looked highly talented that day and it's no surprise to see him stepped up in class immediately. Sir Michael Stoute won this in 2018 with a Juddmonte-owned once-raced winner in Sangarius, who had made his debut just three weeks before, so this a route the trainer knows well.

Carlsberg Danish Pilsner Flying Childers Stakes (Group 2), 5f

Harry's tip: Magnum Force

Magnum Force didn't have things go his way in the Roses at the Ebor meeting, as he was drawn in stall 16 when low numbers were favoured and was denied a clear run at things over a furlong out, but he finished strongly and would have won in another couple of strides. This is a step up in class, but there isn't a lot between the principals on figures and he's improving quickly enough to think he'll cope, granted more luck in running.

3.35 Doncaster
Betfred Howard Wright Doncaster Cup Stakes (Group 2), 2m2f

Harry's tip: Sweet William

Sweet William is a tricky customer, but he's very talented and has been improving since fitted with a visor on his last three starts. He posted a career-best RPR when winning the Henry II Stakes at Sandown in May, his last encounter with ground softer than good, and he has bettered that in both starts behind Kyprios in the Gold Cup and Goodwood Cup since. The ground was probably too quick for him on both occasions, so they can be marked up, and this intermediate trip should be perfect for him. He doesn't do anything once hitting the front, as was the case in this last year, but Robert Havlin knows him well and can deliver him late.

British Stallion Studs EBF Premier Fillies' Handicap, 1m4f

Harry's tip: Beatrice Shilling

There have been glimpses of promise from Beatrice Shilling, notably when coming from off the pace to go close behind an unexposed one from Godolphin in a valuable novice at Newbury, and the best is yet to come. She was outpaced in the rear for a lot of the race on her handicap debut at Salisbury last month, but she did all her best work at the finish to be beaten little more than three lengths in a race where it paid to be prominent. She has been dropped 1lb since and is still completely unexposed, while the softer ground here might be to her liking.

Coopers Marquees EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes, 7f

Harry's tip: Kebili

Newcomers Gulya and Kingsclere, who is a sister to Kameko, could be anything, but experience could play a big hand here and Kebili is worth siding with. She was slowly away on her debut at Newbury two weeks ago but made good headway from the back to be beaten just three lengths. The step up to 7f should suit and she should have no issue if the ground is on the softer side.

Believe Money 'Confined' Nursery Handicap, 6f

Harry's tip: Shout

Shout isn't the easiest ride, as he showed last time at Salisbury, where he hung badly and was virtually unrideable for the last two furlongs. However, it speaks of his ability that, under a penalty, he was still able to finish third and suggests there could be a lot more improvement to come. His debut fifth at Windsor has worked out well and this mark doesn't look beyond him if more amenable this time, while I think he'll be suited by the easier ground.

5.55 Doncaster
Hilton Garden Inn Doncaster Racecourse Handicap, 5f

Harry's tip: Fantasy Master

Fantasy Master was running a big race at York on Sunday before tiring in the final half-furlong and could be a big player dropped back to 5f. He was in good form before that too, with his Newmarket third in July boosted by the winner scoring in Listed company on his next start and the fourth winning twice since, but he has dropped 3lb below his last winning mark. That victory came at this track, his first away from Nottingham, and his run at York after a break should've left him spot on for this.
