Harry Wilson banged in 5-1 and 7-4 winners on Friday - find out his fancies for every race on day two at Cheltenham
Harry Wilson struck with Sweet David (5-1) and Potters Charm (7-4) on Friday and is back with his advice for all seven races on day two of Cheltenham's November meeting on Saturday – plus the two ITV races at Newcastle. . .
12.35 Cheltenham
JCB Triumph Trial Juvenile Hurdle (Grade 2), 2m½f
Harry's tip: East India Dock
East India Dock, rated 89 on the Flat, made an instant impact on his hurdling debut when seeing off Hot Fuss (rated 88 on the Flat) by four lengths at Wincanton last month. He jumped well and stayed on strongly after the last and this half-brother to the useful Burdett Road could make into a nice juvenile hurdler for the same yard. The Gredleys won this last year and in 2019 (Allmankind).

1.10 Cheltenham
Steel Plate & Sections Ltd Amateur Jockeys' Handicap Chase, 3m1f
Harry's tip: Read To Return
Read To Return could potentially have been laid out for another crack at this, having been given a ride that attracted plenty of attention from the stewards when a staying-on fifth as favourite under an inexperienced jockey last year. He ran his best race over fences since under 12st 4lb at Punchestown on his reappearance last month, which should have left him spot on for this. The talented Finian Maguire is a good booking.
1.45 Cheltenham
Paddy Power Arkle Challenge Trophy Trial Novices' Chase (Grade 2), 2m
Harry's tip: L'Eau du Sud
It's very hard to look past last season's County Hurdle runner-up, L'Eau Du Sud, who was an emphatic winner on his chasing debut at Stratford last month. That wasn't the strongest event, but he gave his nearest rival 11lb and a ten-length beating, and his jumping was impressive bar a mistake at the fourth. He looks a novice chaser to follow this season.
2.20 Cheltenham
Paddy Power Gold Cup Handicap Chase, 2m4f
Harry's tip: In Excelsis Deo
I was really taken with how much In Excelsis Deo found when asked for his effort when winning over course and distance in April, and there should be more to come from him over this distance. He does have to bounce back from a poor effort in the Galway Plate when last seen, but this track suits him well. He goes well fresh and on good ground, and the form of his last win has been franked by the runner-up, who has won and run respectably in the Charlie Hall since.
2.55 Cheltenham
From The Horses Mouth Podcast Handicap Hurdle, 3m
Harry's tip: Thanksforthehelp
Thanksforthehelp romped home by six-and-a-half lengths in a Pertemps qualifier at Chepstow in February last year before finishing 12th in the final at the Cheltenham Festival that March, when sent off as the 100-30 favourite. The soft ground was probably against him that day and he followed up in a Southwell novice afterwards, but has been out of form since. The cheekpieces that were left off for his reappearance return is a positive and he's now just 1lb higher than for that qualifier success, so revival is entirely possible.
3.15 Newcastle
BetUK Churchill Stakes (Listed), 1m2f
Harry's tip: Peace Man
Dubai Honour is a cut above on ratings, but this is probably a prep for his assignment in Hong Kong and his 7lb penalty makes life trickier. If there is one to take advantage, Peace Man was very progressive last year and has run well in a Group 3 and a Listed event at Newmarket after returning from more than a year off the track. His latest effort was a career best and he's sure to take a hand if building on that.
3.30 Cheltenham
Paddy Power Intermediate Handicap Hurdle, 2m5f
Harry's tip: Hamsiyann
Hamsiyann wasn't sighted in two hurdles starts in Ireland on a testing surface but showed much more in two British starts, notably producing a much-improved effort on good ground on his handicap debut. He was staying on strongly in that race before being squeezed out by the front pair, so the effort is worth marking up. He followed that with a fine effort in the Chester Plate, finishing second when trying to concede 13lb to stablemate and subsequent Northumberland Vase and Cesarewitch winner Alphonse Le Grande. He's rated 91 in that sphere, so his mark of 111 looks workable, and going up in trip on good ground can only help his cause.
3.48 Newcastle
BetUK Golden Rose Stakes (Listed), 6f
Harry's tip: Willem Twee
Willem Twee produced a career-best RPR of 115 when landing a Racing League handicap at Wolverhampton off top weight in August and was beaten just a length and a quarter when third in the Group 3 Chipchase Stakes the time before, form that has worked out extremely well with the winner Montassib landing the Group 1 Sprint Cup at Haydock on his next start and runner-up Kinross scoring in the Group 2 Park Stakes at Doncaster. He's got some work to do with Night Raider from their clash at Kempton, but it's not the first time he's disappointed after a break and better can be expected here.
4.00 Cheltenham
Karndean Designflooring Mares' Open National Hunt Flat Race (Listed), 2m½f
Harry's tip: Strong Run
Fergal O'Brien saddles two who were both second on their bumper debuts and Strong Run looks the pick of the pair. A sister to the useful Strong Leader and dual bumper winner Strong Glance, she was doing all her best work at the finish and did well to get so close to a more prominently ridden stablemate, having been denied a clear run and buffeted around on her run through. This stiff finish should suit and she should show the benefit of that experience here.
