Graeme Rodway's play of the day at Newbury
Inch House
The Coral Mandarin Handicap Chase can go to Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden with course specialist Inch House, who is starting to look well handicapped again.
Inch House won twice at Newbury last season when trained by Jonjo O’Neill and recorded a career-best effort when second to Stumptown at Cheltenham on New Year’s Day last year off a mark of 137. He lost his way after, but is now off 132 and just 2lb higher than for his last win.
He was pulled up at this course in a race he won last year on his debut for the Nicholls stable last month and was never travelling. However, he is better than that and first-time cheekpieces might help him show it, with Cobden seemingly preferring him to stablemate Brave Kingdom.
