Goodwood Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway with his selections for a £50,000 guaranteed pool

The Tote’s £50,000 Placepot guarantee is at Goodwood and it won’t be easy to win given how gruelling conditions will be. The first race is a 1m2f maiden (2.20) with little form available and two places on offer, so put form horse Sing Us A Song in with Novelista.

The mile handicap (2.55) is next and it is another with only two places available. Rhoscolyn loves Goodwood and handles the ground so goes in alongside the mudlark Magic Memories.

There are nine declared for the 6f handicap (3.30) and Danger Alert is a banker from stall nine against the stands’ rail. That is usually the place to be when the ground is testing here.

There could be an upset in the Foundation Stakes (4.05) and I’m keen to oppose Botanical. Maxi King is unbeaten on heavy ground, while it is also worth including Persist in the perm.

The 7f series final (4.40) is a guessing game with juveniles on the ground, but Betty Clover and Love Talk handle soft, while the last leg (5.15) is between Entrancement and Plus Point
