Fakenham Placepot tips: Tom Segal attempts to crack the £50,000 guaranteed pool

It would be hard to describe the Fakenham meeting as the highest-quality jumps card ever run, but there is a runner on the card who finished fourth behind Kyprios in the Group 1 Prix du Cadran in October. 

Miss Cynthia was with Sir Mark Prescott for that Longchamp run but makes her jumping debut for Lucy Wadham in the maiden hurdle (1.43). If she takes to her new discipline she should be a class above these although, given that concern, form-horse Go West goes into the Placepot perm as well.

Christian Williams has a good record at the Norfolk track and should land a winner or two. His best chance may well come in the 2m7½f handicap hurdle (12.13) with Faded Fantasy, while Ballyrashane receives a lot of weight in the 3m5f handicap chase (2.13). Ballyrashane could improve for the step up in trip, but Gold Clermont hacked up on her only try at Fakenham so she goes in too. 

Kosasiempre looked good on her chasing debut at Leicester this month and should be able to overcome her rise in the weights in the 2m5f mares' handicap chase (1.13), while Simply Gorgeous doesn't have much to beat in the 2m mares' novice handicap hurdle (12.43).

The last leg (2.43) is best left to Zhang Fei for the Fergal O'Brien team. He can be a bit keen so Fern O'Brien will have to get him settled early on but this turning track should help on that score, as will the drop back to 2m.
