The Tote are putting up a £100,000 guarantee for the Placepot on day one at Doncaster and the 6½f nursery (1.50) is competitive. Dear Cat is my big hope, but put Alice Fairfax in too.
The sales race (2.25) comes up next and it makes sense not to steer too far away from the obvious. Camille Pissarro and Caburn are the form picks and they make plenty of appeal.
Anshoda has a chance at a price in the Betfred May Hill Stakes (3.00) and should be included. However, favourite Desert Flower looks the most solid option and also goes in.
There could be an upset in the Betfred Park Hill Fillies' Stakes (3.35) because I’m not sold on Night Sparkle’s chance. Sumo Sam can go well and Sweet Memories is no forlorn hope.
The 1m2f handicap (4.10) looks a good opportunity for the tough and genuine T’Challa. The Andrew Balding-trained runner is progressing rapidly and should be in the first three.
Just seven have been declared for the final leg (4.40) and only two places makes it tricky. It’s worth including Back In Black and Thunder Wonder in a race chock full of promising types.
