Bangor Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway with his selections for a £50,000 guaranteed pool

Deputy betting editor

The Tote’s £50,000 Placepot guarantee is at Bangor, and there will be four places on offer in the 2m4½f handicap chase (12.25) provided they all run. Put Abbeydale and Tanganyika in.

The 2m1½f mares’ novice chase (12.55) is a cracking race, but there are only two places available. West Balboa has a huge chance, but it’s also worth including Shecouldbeanything.

Shan Blue has a good chance to defy top weight in the 3m handicap chase (1.25) that comes up next. He goes well fresh and goes in alongside the consistent and race-fit Pull Again Green.

The 2m½f junior hurdle (1.55) is wide open, but it seems fair to assume that one of Donald McCain’s two will be up to the task. Brian Hughes is on Aotano, and he rates banker material.

Nico de Boinville is at the track for only three rides and has place claims on Old Time Chaser in the first division of the 2m½f novice hurdle (2.25), in which it’s also worth including Joltin N Jiving for McCain. The second division (3.00) can go to De Boinville on Doctor Kildare.
