Ayr Placepot tips: Robbie Wilders has a crack at the £50,000 guaranteed pool

It will be interesting to see how Coventry 12th Catalyse fares on his return from three months off in the opening leg of the Placepot at Ayr (1.42).

This won't be easy for him under a penalty, though, and Kevin Ryan-trained pair Bowen Island and Jorge Alvares make more appeal after recording career-bests in good two-year-old races at the Ebor meeting.

A big run from Jorge Alvares would frank the form of Bambalam ahead of the mile novice (2.12). He caught the eye behind that rival in the Convivial Maiden on his debut and should appreciate another furlong.

Canon's House is fancied to do the business on his handicap debut in division one of the 5f handicap (2.42). Given his inexperience, a back-up play is probably prudent and Water Of Leith, an eyecatcher at Doncaster last time, fits the bill.

The bang-in-form Sugar Hill Babe stands out in the second division (3.12), while Oviedo brings a touch of class to the feature 1m2f handicap (3.42). Bennetot also gives the impression he can score off this mark.

A reproduction of Cheshire Dancer's latest Sandown second will surely see her go close in the final leg (4.15).
