'Success in a maiden looks a distinct possibility' - Justin O'Hanlon with the eyecatchers from last week's action
Aherla Rock
Trainer: Johnny Murtagh
5th,
7½f two-year-old maiden, Roscommon, September 2
The
final Flat meeting of the season at Roscommon was run on soft ground.
The juveniles at least had the best of the ground and this
newcomer by Ten Sovereigns showed promise.
Slowly away, she seemed to travel okay at the back of the field until the pace quickened. From there, she started to pick up slowly while racing green and probably not really appreciating the soft ground.
She was good to the line, however, and although she was not as effective in a warmer fillies' maiden at Galway on Tuesday, she is capable of better, probably with a handicap mark.
