'He will stay further and looks to have a future' - Justin O'Hanlon with his Christmas eyecatchers
Begorra Man
Trainer: Gavin Cromwell
5th,
2m four-year-old maiden hurdle, Leopardstown, December 26
The
action for the first couple of days at Leopardstown was blanketed by
fog, but it didn't hide a couple of promising performances,
including this one.
In a traditionally competitive maiden hurdle, this half-brother to the useful Campeador raced mostly in mid-division until he could be seen making ground from about the second-last, and he continued to run on to finish a solid fifth, beaten just over 13 lengths.
By Flemensfirth out of a mare who was placed in a French Champion Hurdle, he will probably get another chance or two at this trip and should pay his way.
