Chester Placepot picks: Tom Collins provides his perm for day one on the Roodee

Seven precocious juveniles kickstart the meeting in the Lily Agnes (1.45) and I would be disappointed if siding with debut winner Armor and recent Southwell scorer Devious Angel didn't take us through to leg two.

Fillies' Mile fourth Dubai Fountain has a leading chance to make all in the Cheshire Oaks (2.15), but the unbeaten Zeyaadah is also worth selecting with just the first two places to play for.

The inside stall makes Imperial Force a big player in the following sprint handicap (2.45). Course winner Harmony Lil looks the safest option from the rest for leading trainer Tom Dascombe.

The Chester Vase (3.15) has cut up and it's wise to double up in a trappy six-runner affair. Soft ground winners Youth Spirit and Pleasant Man are taken to cause a minor shock.

Well-drawn Pivoting and distance winner Sir Benedict can put their low weights to good use in an extremely competitive 6f handicap (3.45).

In the closing 1m2f handicap (4.15), €600,000 purchase Kingsofthemidlands looks banker material from the inside gate.
