This six-year-old is a leggy, unfurnished type and looked well. She travelled nicely and moved into a challenging position coming around the final bend but she was simply outstayed by the winner. I think slightly better ground would definitely help her cause.

In contrast, conditions were ideal for Midnight Tune, whose form indicates that she needs this ground to perform to her best. She had been out of sorts behind La Bague Au Roi at Ascot but looked in decent order. She went to the front four out and her greater stamina kicked in at the death.
