There are places that leave an impression which lingers long after the day has passed into memory. A moment's tranquillity, a second of jollity that endures months or even years after the occasion, its recollection a happy, calming balm for a wounded soul.
Millgrove Stud, home to Annaca Bloodstock, the breeding, boarding and prepping business established by Caroline Hannon and her husband Mick Keenan, is one of those special places.
Perhaps it's the play of the golden sunlight through the broad green leaves of the trees that stand to attention all around the farm, dappling the horses and the grass they graze upon with the light and shade of their patterns, or the soothing spell cast by the river whose banks provide one boundary for the farm.
