WinStar Farm announces 2022 fees as Speightstown leads the way at $90,000

WinStar Farm has announced 2022 fees for its 18-strong roster, with Speightstown leading the way at $90,000 and Constitution remaining at $85,000 for the upcoming breeding season.

Speightstown, a leading sire with progeny earnings of $13,442,775 this year, has been represented by Grade 1 winners Lexitonian and Flagstaff, plus undefeated three-year-old filly Carribean Caper, the winner of five consecutive races including the Grade 3 Dogwood Stakes.

Constitution, sire of last year’s Belmont Stakes winner Tiz The Law from his first crop, is the leading third-season sire this year with 29 black type horses and four Graded winners.

He is the sire of two-year-old stakes winner Major General, winner of the Iroquois Stakes; Warrant, winner of the Oklahoma Derby; Promise Keeper, and Americanrevolution, who recently finished a rallying third in the Pennsylvania Derby.

The remarkable More Than Ready will stand for $50,000, having supplied four juvenile stakes winners in 2021 including Slipstream, Bubble Rock and Koala Princess. The 24-year-old is the only sire to have an Eclipse Award champion in each of the last four years, and added a new Grade 1 winner this year in Hit the Road, winner of the Frank E. Kilroe Mile.

Improbable, last year's Eclipse Champion Older Male, will stand his second season at stud for $35,000. Unbeaten in three starts at two, including the Los Alamitos Cash Call Futurity, he won three consecutive Grade 1s in 2020 with success in the the Awesome Again Stakes, Whitney Stakes and the Hollywood Gold Cup.

Audible, who has covered more than 400 mares in his first two years at stud, will stand for a fee of $22,500. The son of Into Mischief was a three-length winner of the Florida Derby and a five and a half-length scorer of the Holy Bull Stakes.

“Speightstown, Constitution, and More Than Ready continue to provide breeders with options from prolific sire lines that American racing thrives on. We have young, exciting Grade 1-winning stallions, including Improbable, Audible, Yoshida, Tom’s d’Etat and Global Campaign, who all have the potential to be top sires and lead the new generation of stallions at WinStar.

"We also have proven sires like Paynter and Take Charge Indy who provide value with the possibility of getting a racehorse at the highest level.”

Stallions will be available for inspection by appointment from 11am to 2pm local time during the Fasig-Tipton October Yearling Sale from October 25-28.
