Scuderia Incolinx struck for the two €70,000 joint top lots in the select session of Saturday's SGA Yearling Sale in Milan.

Diego Romeo's operation, one of Italy's biggest owners, had a first tilt at lot 8, a Holy Roman Emperor colt offered by Societa Agricola Alessandrucci. Already named Lethal Emperor, the March-born individual is out of Lethal Force mare Lethal Island, who won three times in Italy and has hit the target with all of her three previous progeny to have raced. Further down her page, the colt can be traced to the Sapphire Stakes-winning sprinter Mooneista and the brilliant Old Vic.

That high mark was equalled later in the event staged at the La Maura trotting track in the city by an Adaay filly (19) named Teheran and offered by breeder Azienda Agricola Rosati Colarieti.

She comes from a pretty live family as a half-sister to three black-type earners from as many runners out of the dam. Among them are Azzurro Cobalto, a Listed scorer in Rome who was also Group placed, and Tawang, who was a winner for Scuderia Incolinx in the Listed Premio Bereguardo-Trofeo Sirlad at San Siro in May.

A collection of more than 100 yearlings were put through the ring in front of a decent crowd with regular Tattersalls auctioneer John O'Kelly among those taking a turn on the rostrum.

Compared with most recent renewals of the country's signature yearling auction, which tends to achieve at least one six-figure lot, it proved a low-key affair with the market dominated by local owners and trainers. Incolinx also bought a Saxon Warrior filly (23) from Razza del Velino for €60,000. The grey is the first foal out of Golden Horn mare Voce Grigia, who is a half-sister to Italian 2,000 Guineas runner-up Amabile from a deep family.
