Highs, lows and my Serbian counterpart provide a stern test of sales reporting stamina

It’s a marathon not a sprint. And I’m not necessarily referring to this week’s diary, although some readers may well feel the glove fits by the end of Thursday’s entry. If anyone makes it that far.
No, instead I’m talking about the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale, a five-day festival of fun framed around no fewer than 1,639 lots. Even with a hefty volume of withdrawals, this event is always a test of sales reporting stamina. Lugging around the breeze block-sized catalogue constitutes enough of a workout for some of us.
