The catalogue for the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale is now available to view online. The sale returns to Ireland with a quality selection of 480 yearlings to be offered on September 20-21, with a further 128 lots in Part II on September 22.

Publication of the catalogue comes during another excellent season for September Yearling Sale graduates. A leading source of juvenile success, the sale has continued to pump out two-year-old winners in Ireland, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic and Saudi Arabia.

The Marnane family celebrated Group 3 success with their £18,000 purchase Bottle Of Bubbles winning the Premio Primi Passi for trainer Florian Guyader, while Sir Busker recorded a career best just last Saturday when battling to success in the Group 2 York Stakes for William Knight.

Other notable Group- and Listed-winning graduates include Layfayette, Ponntos, Go Bears Go, Thunder Beauty and Lucky Girl.

The 2022 catalogue features full- or half-brothers and -sisters to several Group and Listed winners including the half-sister to Group 3 Gladness Stakes winner Markaz Paname.

Ballybin Stud’s lot 424, by Holy Roman Emperor, received a timely update with the three-year-old half-sister Bellabel winning the Group 2 San Clemente Stakes at Del Mar on Sunday. Other black-type performers whose siblings feature among the catalogue include Art Connoisseur, Sovereign Debt, Roman Turbo, The Lir Jet, Realtra, Dense Star and Waady.

In total there are yearlings out of 54 black-type mares including lot 153, a Kingman colt out of multiple Group 2 winner Riposte, lot 214, a Too Darn Hot filly out of Group 1-placed and multiple Group 3 winner Suffused, and lot 433, a No Nay Never daughter of Group 3 Prix Minerve winner Forces Of Darkness.

Whitsbury Manor Stud’s Havana Grey is romping ahead as leading first-season sire with 28 individual winners, as well as securing his first Listed winner last week at Naas.

His progeny is well represented in the catalogue with ten lots on offer including lot 386, the half-sister to Group 2-placed Sam Maximus and two-year-old winner Amazing Show.

All yearlings catalogued will be candidates for the €300,000 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes, which takes place at the Curragh on Irish Champions Weekend 2023.

As well as the big pot for purchasers, the vendor of the winning horse will also drive away in an Overlander 2-stall horsebox. More than 80 per cent of the yearlings catalogued are IRE qualified and eligible to win a sales voucher of €10,000 per qualifying race in Ireland and Britain.
