Galileo filly among wildcards announced for Goffs Orby Sale
Four yearlings by elite stallions have been added to the flagship yearling sale
Goffs has announced four supplementary entries for the fast-approaching Orby Sale including a filly from the penultimate crop of the incomparable Galileo.
She is one of a trio of daughters of excellent stallions who have been added to a catalogue that is already brimming with impeccable pedigrees and outstanding individuals.
The Galileo filly will go through the ring as lot 229A and is the second foal out of the Group 3 winner Wind Chimes by Mastercraftsman, who was also placed in the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches and Prix du Moulin for Andre Fabre and the Coolmore partners.
Wind Chimes' first foal is a two-year-old colt by Galileo and he brought €90,000 from Mark Johnston at last year's Arqana August Yearling Sale. This filly was offered at the 2022 sale in Deauville where she was led out of the ring unsold at €350,000. Offered by Haras des Capucines in France, the chestnut will be consigned by Baroda Stud in Ireland.
David and Tamso Cox's Kildare farm offer another of the wildcard entries - 315A who is a daughter of Sea The Stars, now the broodmare sire of two Group 1 winners this season.
She too was unsold at Arqana's August Yearling Sale, at €140,000 where she was offered by Baroda. The March-born filly is the third foal out of her unraced dam Aegean Sea, who is a Henrythenavigator half-sister to the Group 3 Bengough Stakes winner Lightning Moon and the Listed Blenheim Stakes winner Song Of My Heart.
The third filly to be supplemented is by Camelot, sire of last weekend's Irish Champion Stakes hero Luxembourg and this season's Deutsches Derby winner Sammarco.
Out of an unraced half-sister to Group 3 Winter Derby winner Robin Hoods Bay, by another of Montjeu's Derby-winning sons in Motivator, and from the family of Postponed and God Given, she (174A) was a 125,000gns purchase by Camas Park Stud as a foal last year and was purchased for €160,000 by Shawn Dugan at Arqana in December.
Yeomanstown Stud has added a son of Dark Angel to their Goffs Orby draft (508A). He is the first foal of the Listed Chalmer Stakes winner Isaan Queen, who is a daughter of War Command, from the family of Preis der Diana winner Diamanta, and was bought for £82,000 by Almohamediya Racing at the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale.
The Goffs Orby Sale takes place from September 27-28 and the catalogue, including the supplementary entries, can be viewed here.
