Zarkava and Cabaret among superstar names set to visit Siyouni this season
Other top-class mares include Solemia, With You, Galikova and Madame Chiang
Siyouni, one of the leading lights in the European stallion ranks and the sire of 2021 world champion three-year-old St Mark's Basilica, is set to receive a stellar book of mares that includes the Aga Khan's unbeaten Zarkava.
Standing at Haras de Bonneval in Normandy, Siyouni has already produced a stakes-winning filly with Zarkava in the form of Zaykava, while there is a yearling brother waiting in the wings. Zarkava is the dam of leading first-season sire Zarak, as well as the Listed-winning Group 1-placed Zarkamiya.
Other Aga Khan homebred mares who will visit the son of Pivotal this year are Sheema Classic winner Dolniya, the dam of last year's Prix Quincey victor Dilawar; Ebiyza, the dam of Group 2 winner and multiple top-level placed Ebaiyra; and Sagamiyra, who won the Prix du Pin and finished second to Mother Earth in the Prix Rothschild last season.
Also among Siyouni's book this term are Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe heroine Solemia and Prix Vermeille winner Galikova from the Wertheimers, George Strawbridge's Prix Rothschild winner With You, and Kirsten Rausing’s British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes winner Madame Chiang.
Cabaret, the dam of St Mark's Basilica and his Invincible Spirit Classic-winning half-brother Magna Grecia, is also booked in, along with Juddmonte's Sacred Shield and Kilo Alpha, the dams of top-flight winners Viadera and Juliet Foxtrot.
The top-class harem also features the likes of sisters to Japan, Mogul and Secret Gesture; Lope De Vega; Zelzal; Timepiece and Passage Of Time; Sacred Life; and National Defense, as well as the dams of A Raving Beauty, Wings Of Eagles and Walk In Marrakesh.
Mares due to foal to Siyouni this season include Zarkamiya; Sinaniya, the dam of Group 1-placed Sonaiyla; Kitesurf; Left Hand (who returns for 2022); Qemah; Venetias Dream, the dam of Siyouni's 2020 Classic winner Dream And Do; and Starlet’s Sister, the dam of Siyouni's Prix du Jockey Club and Arc winner Sottsass.
Also due to him are half-sisters to St Mark’s Basilica and Magna Grecia, and Just The Judge.
