Youth Spirit and Master Of Reality among wildcards for Tattersalls HIT Sale
Other entries include promising two-year-olds Nero Tulip and Bastogne
This season's Chester Vase scorer Youth Spirit and high-class stayer Master Of Reality head 11 wildcard entries for next week's Tattersalls Horses in Training Sale.
Youth Spirit, who is catalogued as lot 1186A, was a winner on his second start at two before finishing third in the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood.
The son of Camelot went on to win the Chester Vase Stakes this term before running in the Derby behind Adayar. Third in the Great Voltigeur and fourth to Ottoman Empire in the Gordon Stakes at Goodwood, the three-year-old was last seen finishing fifth in the St Leger to Hurricane Lane.
The Ringfort Stud and Paul Hancock-bred colt, a graduate of the Goffs November Foal Sale and Arqana's August Sale, will be offered on the Wednesday of the Tattersalls sale, which takes place from Monday, October 25 to Thursday, October 28.
Joseph O'Brien will offer another high-profile lot in Master Of Reality (1186C), a Group 3-winning son of Frankel who was also third in the Gold Cup at Ascot in 2019 behind Stradivarius.
Out of the champion three-year-old filly L'Ancresse, the six-year-old is a five-time winner and added the Listed Her Majesty's Plate to his CV at Down Royal in July. The gelding was also second past the post in the 2019 Melbourne Cup before being demoted to fourth for interference.
Also among the wildcard lots are promising two-year-olds Nero Tulip (364D), who will be consigned by Aguiar Bloodstock and has won his last two starts for Ger Lyons, and consistent Holy Roman Emperor gelding Bastogne (364B), who was fourth on his most recent start in the Listed Prix Saraca at Chantilly for David Evans. He is out of a half-sister to Salacia, the dam of Queen Elizabeth II Stakes winner King Of Change.
Other promising juveniles include Kevin Ryan's Lady Ayresome (740A), a two-time winning daughter of Kodi Bear, and Josies Kid (1186B), a son of Ardad who ran out an eyecatching winner of a York nursery earlier this month for Alice Haynes.
Among the other wildcard entries are Fitzroy House Stables's Ace Rothstein (364C), a More Than Ready half-brother to Group 3 winner Lord Simba who has won two of his six starts, Kingsfield Stud's Dandy Man gelding That's Just Dandy (740C), who broke his maiden at Dundalk, and the Michael Appleby trained Swinton Noon (1273A), a dual-winning son of Sepoy.
