Yearlings and foals by world's leading sires on offer at the JRHA Select Sale
Sires with progeny include Drefong, Duramente, Epiphaneia and Frankel
A stellar catalogue for the JRHA Select Sale in July has been released, with 243 yearlings and 241 foals by some of the world's leading sires set to go under the hammer at Northern Horse Park.
Taking place near New Chitose Airport, the yearling session kicks off proceedings on Monday, July 11 at 10am local time and is followed by the foal section the following day, which begins at 9.30am.
Among the international sires represented with yearlings are Animal Kingdom, California Chrome, Cheval Grand, Daiwa Major, Drefong, Duramente, Epiphaneia, Frankel, Golden Horn, Gun Runner, Heart's Cry, Lord Kanaloa, Maurice, Orfevre, Real Steel, Saxon Warrior, Thunder Snow and Yoshida.
Highlight lots from the yearling section include a Lord Kanaloa filly out of Prix Marcel Boussac scorer Lily's Candle (14), a Frankel colt out of Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine Jet Setting (23), and a colt by Maurice out of 1,000 Guineas victress Homecoming Queen (55).
Others include a California Chrome colt out of E.P Taylor Stakes winner Al's Gal (57), a Duramente half-brother to Kentucky Oaks heroine Cathryn Sophia (63), and an Epiphaneia colt out of Queen Elizabeth II Cup winner Queen Spumante (85).
Sires with lots in the concluding foal section include Admire Mars, American Pharoah, Caravaggio, City Of Light, Justify, Harbinger, Makfi, No Nay Never, Siskin and Suave Richard.
Some of the lots being offered as foals include a Kizuna filly out of Spinaway Stakes scorer Lady Ivanka (302); a Maurice filly out of American champion two-year-old filly Awesome Feather (328); a No Nay Never half-brother to Tattersalls Gold Cup scorer Helvic Dream (329); a Kizuna colt out of German Oaks heroine Feodra (391); and an American Pharoah colt out of top-level scorer American Song (432).
