'He's a bit of a local celebrity and loves life' - catching up with Paddy Power Gold Cup regular Splash Of Ginge
We all have our favourites on the track, but it's not always easy to follow what they get up to once their racing days are over. In a new Racing Post series, we catch up with Splash Of Ginge . . .
Talk about a local hero. Splash Of Ginge ran 17 times at Cheltenham during a career spanning almost seven years on the track, with his crowning moment coming in the 2017 Paddy Power Gold Cup.
He ran in the feature race of Cheltenham's November meeting four times in all, including his very last run in 2019 and at the age of 16 he remains a popular member of the team at Nigel Twiston-Davies's yard in nearby Naunton.
