Well-related Düsseldorf winner Eleonora tops BBAG Online Spring Sale at €23,500
In all 27 horses sold for a total of €217,000
Recent Düsseldorf winner Eleonora, a half-sister to three black-type performers including the Listed-winning Enissa, topped the BBAG Online Spring Sale to Radek Holcak from the Czech Republic for €23,500.
Formerly trained by Markus Klug, the daughter of Reliable Man and Elora was the subject of an exciting bidding duel, eventually won by Holcak.
The four-year-old filly hails from a family that includes German Oaks heroine Enora and German Group 2 winner Egerton.
Holger Renz retained his German Derby entry Gedons when buying back the Jukebox Jury colt for €25,500.
Offered as Lot 47, the three-year-old has been placed twice this year and is out of the four-time winning Gentlewave mare Goudevivre. Among his family are the 1991 2,000 Guineas scorer Mystiko and the high-class Basim.
On a day where 27 horses sold for a total of €217,000 and an average price of €8,050, Ireland's Sean O’Kelly went to €21,000 to pick up the Gestüt Ammerland-consigned Bahama Sea.
The Irish-bred daughter of Australia comes from a high-class German family that includes German Derby hero Borgia, Prix Vermeille scorer Baltic Baroness and Hamburg Trophy victor Bermuda Reef. She has run twice this year.
BBAG will next host the Premier Yearling Sale, which will take place as a live auction on September 3 in Iffezheim.
