'We feel they offer exceptional value in a challenging market' - Bearstone Stud's 2025 roster and fees unveiled

Bearstone Stud has announced its roster for 2025, with proven top-level sire Dream Ahead once again leading the way at £6,500. 

The champion sprinter is responsible for 13 individual Group winners from 65 black-type performers, headed by Group 1 scorers Glass Slippers, Dream Of Dreams,  Donjuan Triumphant and Al Wukair. 

Also the broodmare sire of British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes winner Poptronic, Poule d'Essai des Poulains second Texas and high-class sprinter Cold Case, his fee remains unchanged for 2025. 

Belardo also remains unchanged at £5,500, with his American Grade 1 scorer Gold Phoenix winning a brace of Grade 2s this year and finishing fourth to Rebel's Romance in the Breeders' Cup Turf this month.

Washington DC will be available at £3,500, with his year being headlined by Abernant Stakes winner Washington Heights.

Stud owner Terry Holdcroft said: "We feel our stallions offer exceptional value in a challenging market, none more so than Belardo, who is the highest-ranked sire standing in Europe under £15,000 by the number of European winners in 2024. 

"Further afield, US Grade 1 winner Gold Phoenix added more US black type to his form, and Fiach McHugh [aka Red Lion] was placed in two valuable Grroup races in Hong Kong; he was one of ten new stakes horses for Belardo this year. 

“Proven Group 1 sire of speed Dream Ahead has sired 65 stakes horses worldwide and is ranked alongside leading sprint sires No Nay Never, Dark Angel and Kodiac for the number of Group 1-winning sprinters produced since 2019."

He added: "Lastly, our young sire Washington DC also showed his ability to produce tough and durable sprinters like himself, led by Washington Heights kicking off a successful season this year for him with victory in the Group 3 Abernant Stakes."
