Looking For Lynda became Oak Lodge Stud resident and French champion juvenile Unfortunately's first winner when landing the opening restricted novice stakes at Nottingham on Friday.

Trained, like his sire, by Karl Burke the Springfield House Stud and Hollymount Stud-bred colt was going one better than on his debut when he was a promising second at Ayr the previous Tuesday.

The colt did not sell when presented at the Tattersalls Ireland Flat Breeding Stock in 2020, being bought back by Oak Lodge and Springfield House Stud for €2,200, but he subsequently sold to Burke for 12,000gns at the Tattersalls Somerville Sale the following September.

Looking For Lynda is from a fine Cheveley Park family, being out of Dutch Art mare Designated, who is in turn out of a winning Pivotal sister to Peeress, whose career highlights came in the Sun Chariot and Lockinge Stakes, and a half-sibling to the Listed-placed Mayson gelding Forza Angel.

Designated sold from Cheveley Park to Springfield House Stud for 3,000gns at the Tattersalls July Sale in 2019.

Unfortunately was bred by Tally-Ho Stud who sold him to Burke for €24,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale in 2016.

He was off the mark at the second attempt as a juvenile and was purchased privately by Cheveley Park Stud after his victories in the Prix Morny and Prix Robert Papin in a season which saw him crowned French champion juvenile.

Sporting Cheveley Park's silks, he won the Renaissance Stakes at Naas on his last start at three before taking up stallion duties at Cheveley Park Stud for an opening fee of £7,500.

A son of the ill-fated Society Rock, who was a top-class sprinter with victories in the Golden Jubilee Stakes and Haydock Sprint Cup for James Fanshawe, the seven-year-old has stood at Oak Lodge Stud since 2020.

The 11th foal out of the winning Komaite mare Unfortunate, he is a half-brother to Temple Stakes and Flying Five Stakes winner Look Busy, the dam of dual stakes scorer and Flying Five runner-up Keep Busy.

Unfortunately stood the 2022 season for a fee of €3,500.
