The reverberations of the Covid-19 pandemic were compounded by the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February and the subsequent economic difficulties that came with it, but bloodstock auctions in 2022 defied the gloom with record-breaking trade. With the physical sales season in Europe having come to a close at Cheltenham on Friday, here's a recap of the highest-priced horses from key categories.
