Top-class catalogue released for the Arqana August Yearling Sale
The three-day sale in Deauville coincides with the Prix Jacques le Marois
The Arqana August Yearling Sale catalogue featuring yearlings by some of the world's leading stallions and youngsters related to Group 1 performers has been released online.
Taking place in Deauville alongside one of Europe's premier mile races in the Prix Jacques le Marois, there are a grand total of 19 siblings and half-siblings to Group 1 winners alongside lots by stallions such as Dubawi, Frankel, Galileo, Kingman, Lope De Vega, Medalia d’Oro, Sea The Stars and Siyouni.
The three-day sale will run from August 14-16 and will also feature offspring by first-crop stallions Cloth Of Stars, Cracksman, Recoletos, Roaring Lion, Saxon Warrior and U S Navy Flag.
Former graduates of the sale include Prix du Jockey Club and Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe hero Sottsass, who sold from Ecurie des Monceaux to Oceanic Bloodstock for €340,000 in 2017, along with fellow top-level winners Skalleti, Wonderful Tonight, Etoile and Uni.
Last year's sale-topping consignor Ecurie des Monceaux returns with its usual array of high-class yearlings. Among their consignment next month is the first yearling by Justify to be offered in Europe, a filly from the family of Toronado (Lot 52), plus a Siyouni half-sister to Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère scorer National Defense (133) and a Dubawi colt from the family of the brilliant Goldikova.
Ballylinch Stud is another leading vendor and will offer an Al Wukair half-sister to Antonia De Vega (115), while among Haras d’Etreham's lots is a Kingman colt out of Prix de Sandringham scorer Mission Impassible (58) and a Wootton Bassett colt from a black-type family including Peace Royale and Peace Motion.
Other entries to catch the eye include Haras de l’Hotellerie's Dubawi half-sister to Criterium de Saint-Cloud scorer Wonderment (117), Élevage de Tourgéville's Frankel half-sister to Prix Marcel Boussac winner Lily's Candle (16), and Haras du Logis Saint Germain's Ribchester half-sister to last year's Poule d'Essai des Pouliches heroine Dream And Do (111).
The sale will revert to its original format, with bidding starting at 5.30pm on the first two days of the sale on the Saturday and Sunday and at 1pm on the Monday.
