ThoroughBid sale to feature Poetic Flare's half-sister and top trainers' support
Online auction company has first sale from 10am on Sunday
New online auction house ThoroughBid has launched its first catalogue, with support from trainers including Andrew Balding, Jamie Osborne and Fergal O’Brien.
Those available to bid on from 10am on Sunday include dual bumper winner Leading Theatre, by Leading Light, who was also placed in a point-to-point last year before heading to Ravenswell Farm, where she has contributed to Fergal O’Brien’s current position at the top of the trainers’ championship.
Imperial Force, placed in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes last year for Andrew Balding, is another going under the online hammer. The three-year-old gelding was last seen finishing second at Windsor when representing Team ThoroughBid in the William Hill Racing League.
Lambourn trainer Jamie Osborne has four horses in the sale, including 72-rated Nicks Not Wonder.
As well as horses in training, the sale features mares, including seven-year-old Mariora, a Teofilo half-sister to none other than Poetic Flare, and five-year-old Kilbarchan, by Jukebox Jury and a three-time winner for Mark Johnston.
Jolie Comtesse, a half-sister to Group 1 Goodwood Cup winner Trueshan, has also been consigned by Dunraven Stud.
Ross Alberto, co-founder of ThoroughBid, said: “We’re hugely excited to be opening our first catalogue with such a great mix of equine talent, and to have the confidence and backing of such respected trainers is very reassuring.”
