The Thoroughbred Breeders' Association has confirmed dates in January for its annual events to promote British-based stallions.

The Goffs UK-sponsored National Hunt stallion showcase will feature a selection of new and established names who will be paraded on request on the first day of the company's January Sale, on January 21.

The showcase will take place in a designated yard at the Goffs UK complex in Doncaster, with visitors can enjoy light refreshments and meet the TBA team.

A silent auction of stallion nominations, donated by the attending farms, will also run until 3pm on the day of the event, to raise funds for the TBA’s National Hunt activities.

Further information on the silent auction and participating stallions will be announced on the TBA website.

The TBA Flat stallion parade, supported by Tattersalls, will take place on January 30 before the start of the February Sale at Park Paddocks in Newmarket.

A number of Flat stallions standing their first or second seasons in Britain will be paraded in the sales ring before joining other visiting stallions in Left and Right Yards for closer inspections during the day.

Once again, light refreshments will be served to visitors and the TBA will be on hand for questions.

TBA chief executive Claire Sheppard said: “The TBA stallion events have now firmly cemented themselves in the breeding calendar, with many breeders taking the opportunity to view a number of stallions at the two convenient locations ahead of the start of the covering season.

“We are, as ever, thankful for our headline event sponsors Goffs UK and Tattersalls, as well as our supporters Weatherbys and Racing TV, without whom we could not deliver these events.

“I look forward to speaking with breeders at the events in January and the TBA team will be on hand to assist anyone who is interested in getting involved in the industry.”

Entry to both events is free of charge.
