Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale graduate Quick provided her sire Olympic Glory with his first US Graded winner when landing the Grade 3 Astra Stakes at Santa Anita on Sunday.

The five-year-old was a 32,000gns purchase by BBA Ireland's Michael Donohoe in 2019 and was providing her sire with his sixth individual Group/Graded winner overall.

Leading home a one-two for trainer John Sadler, it was a first stakes success for Quick who was bred by Brightwalton Bloodstock and won twice for Richard Hannon in 2019.

Winning rider Umberto Rispoli told Bloodhorse: "I planned in my mind to go forward and sit outside the lead. Obviously she was ready to break, so she broke first before everybody, but she's such a nice filly, she was a little bit excited today."

Assistant trainer Juan Leyva added: "She got to relax, not be on the front end. She settled well and got a perfect trip. I think our other filly [runner-up Hermaphrodite] might have been a little better, but it worked out great."

Quick, a 13,000gns purchase from Book 2 of Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in 2017, was third on her previous start in the Grade 3 Red Carpet Handicap at Del Mar.

Narrow runner-up Hermaphrodite, also carrying the Hronis Racing colours, is also European bred. A multiple stakes-placed daughter of Le Havre, she was originally trained in France by Francis-Henri Graffard and bred by Jedburgh Stud, notably finishing second to Worth Waiting in the Group 3 Prix Minerve in 2018.

Olympic Glory, who stands at at Al Shaqab's Haras de Bouquetot for a fee of €5,000, is the sire of Coronation Stakes and Prix Rothschild heroine Watch Me, while he also sired the promising Etonian, winner of the Solario Stakes last term for Hannon and Quick's former owner Julie Wood.
