Talismanic introduced at 1.8m yen as Darley Japan publish prices

Darley have published 2019 fees for their roster in Japan, with new recruit Talismanic introduced to breeders at 1.8 million yen (£12,800/€14,200).

The five-year-old son of Medaglia D'Oro, who hails from the further family of Japan's champion sire Deep Impact, retires to stud as the winner of eight of his 23 starts.

His most notable victory came in the Breeders' Cup Turf of 2017, and he also took the Group 2 Prix Maurice de Nieuil and found only Highland Reel too good in the Hong Kong Vase that year.

Admire Moon, sire of this year's dual Japanese Grade 1-winning sprinter Fine Needle, has had his fee held at 1.5m yen (£10,600/€11,800).

The son of End Sweep holds enduring popularity with Japan's breeders and this year he covered 180 mares.

Pyro, Japan’s leading sire by NAR earnings, has been priced at 2.5m yen for 2019, up from 2m yen this year.

The Darley roster in Japan is completed by American Patriot (1.5m yen), who will cover his second book of mares; proven Grade 1 sire Discreet Cat (1.5m yen); Furioso (500,000 yen), a prolific sire of winners; and Dubawi’s Dubai World Cup-winning son Monterosso (1m yen).
