Talented Siyouni available to cover mares on southern hemisphere time

Siyouni, who has gone from strength to strength since retiring to stud, will be available to cover a select book of mares on southern hemisphere time, Haras de Bonneval announced on Wednesday.

His fee for the limited book will be €50,000.

The son of Pivotal has had one runner in Australia to date in the shape of son Aylmerton, who was bred on southern hemisphere time, captured the Group 2 Todman Stakes for Jean Dubois earlier this year.

On these shores his daughter Laurens added a second Group 1 to her name to go with her Fillies' Mile victory when landing last month's Prix Saint-Alary.

The Karl Burke-trained three-year-old could add to her haul on Sunday as she is one of 13 possible entries for the Prix de Diane at Chantilly.

Georges Rimaud, manager of the Aga Khan Studs in France, said: "Siyouni's continuous success in Europe and his first Group winner have sparked significant interest in the southern hemisphere.

"The number of mares he has covered this year and his increased value mean we will not be able to shuttle him, however, we wished to make him available to breeders interested in using him southern hemisphere time.

"I believe he is now a very attractive stallion for the Australian market, as he produces strong, well developed, fast horses that are precocious and can race on at the highest level.
