Smart broodmares and useful Flat and National Hunt talent catalogued for Auctav's January Sale
The catalogue for the Auctav January Sale is now online and features two sessions dedicated to Flat and National Hunt horses.
Taking place online on January 29, entries remain open for an event which has already attracted 100 lots.
For the Flat catalogue, Haras de Colleville stands out as the most prolific consignor, offering a number of yearlings, two-year-olds, and broodmares. Among these is the first foal out of black-type mare Miss Louna, a filly by Marianafoot.
Several broodmares are in foal to highly sought-after stallions, such as Camelot and Hello Youmzain, both consigned by Coulonces Sales. Other broodmares are in foal to Goken and Dabirsim, each responsible for over 60 winners in France in 2024. A share in Makaloun, whose first crop are yearlings in 2024, also features.
There is also a strong line-up of National Hunt broodmares, with Hamel Stud is among the leading consignors. The operation presents Fracafigura Has, a mare who excelled at black-type level over hurdles and fences, before producing black-type performer Fraga Has. Fracafigura Has is in foal to Jigme, Haras du Hoguenet's young sire whose first foals are due this term.
Also worth noting is a daughter of champion Roll On Has and a half-sister to Roberta Has, who is in foal to Moises Has. Haras du Haut Chatelier presents Gaffeuse (AQPS), a half-sister to Ubak and Rebel Fitz, in foal to Cokoriko, the leading stallion by earnings in 2024 and second by number of wins in France.
Arnaud Angeliaume, Auctav's general manager, said: "This new January session is a real innovation for us, and we’re delighted to have the trust of so many prestigious studs, owners, and breeders. With just two weeks to go before the start of the covering season, this sale is the perfect opportunity to acquire a mare, whether she’s in foal or barren. We can’t wait for the day itself.
"As it’s our largest online sale, we’ll be introducing a refreshed look, while keeping the interface just as intuitive. No one will lose their bearings, and everything will run even more smoothly."
