Share in Haras d'Etreham's Persian King tops Arqana's Online Sale at €190,000
A 1/50th share in Haras d'Etreham's exciting young sire Persian King topped Arqana's Online Sale on Tuesday when selling to Patricia Butel for €190,000, with the auction as a whole generating turnover of €511,000.
The son of Kingman, whose career victories under the tutelage of Andre Fabre included the French 2,000 Guineas, Prix du Moulin and Prix d'Ispahan, will see his first yearlings sell this year. He stands at Nicolas de Chambure's Normandy stud for a fee of €25,000, while his first crop of foals made up to €160,000.
Fellow Normandy-based sire The Grey Gatsby had a 1/60th share sell, this time to Bridge Consignment for €60,000. The Prix du Jockey Club and Irish Champion Stakes-winning son of Mastercraftsman has sired three individual Group winners from seven black-type performers, including Group 3 Dr Busch Memorial winner and German Oaks third Mylady.
Other notable performers by the Haras du Petit Tellier-based sire include Prix de Lutèce winner Master Gatsby and Premio Verziere scorer Atomic Blonde. He stands this season for €12,000.
A 1/48th share in Haras de la Hetraie's Nirvana Du Berlais made €56,000 to Philippe Allaire, with the Grade 1 Prix Cambaceres winner available at a fee of €6,500.
