Shadwell to offer 18-strong team at the Tattersalls December Yearling Sale
Siblings to Sea Of Class and Shalaa are among the catalogue highlights
Shadwell are set to offer 18 yearlings by a number of leading sires at the Tattersalls December Yearling Sale, including those by Frankel, Invincible Spirit, Lope De Vega, Sea The Stars and Shamardal.
The sale, which takes place at Park Paddocks on November 22, features Shadwell highlights such as a Shamardal colt (Lot 138) out of Group 3 Prix de Ris-Orangis winner and Prix Maurice de Gheest second Thawaany, an Invincible Spirit filly (136) out of City of York Stakes winner Talaayeb, and a Frankel filly (10) out of Italian Group 3 scorer Farmah.
Other highlights include the Castlefarm Stud-consigned Invincible Spirit full-sister to Shalaa (22), Oak Lodge & Springfield House Stud's Sea The Stars full-brother to Sea Of Class (30), and The Castlebridge Consignment's Invincible Spirit half-brother to Zelzal (77).
The catalogue features full- or half-brothers and sisters to 41 Group and Listed winners, and 25 yearlings out of Group and Listed winning dams, as well as lots by nine of the top ten sires currently standing in Europe. These are Australia, Dark Angel, Frankel, Kingman, Kodiac, Lope De Vega, Sea The Stars, Siyouni and Wootton Bassett.
Other proven sires with yearlings are Bated Breath, Dandy Man, Farhh, Gleneagles, Havana Gold, Make Believe, Mastercraftsman, Night Of Thunder, Pivotal, Sea The Moon and Showcasing.
First-season sires include Ardad, Caravaggio, Churchill, Galileo Gold, Time Test and Ulysses, while the likes of Cracksman, Expert Eye, Harry Angel, Lightning Spear, Roaring Lion and Saxon Warrior will also be represented.
Six yearlings catalogued are eligible for the £20,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus Scheme, with a further 16 eligible for the £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes, including four additionally eligible for the £100,000 Tattersalls Somerville Auction Stakes.
The catalogue also features 38 fillies entered for the Great British Bonus and two lots qualified for French Owners’ Premiums.
Tattersalls chairman Edmond Mahony said: “The Tattersalls December Yearling Sale is a consistent source of top-class performers and this year’s Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud winner Broome and Richmond Stakes winning two-year-old Asymmetric are evidence of the consistent quality on offer.
"The significant draft from Shadwell Estates and consignments from many of Britain and Ireland’s most successful nurseries look set to appeal to a wide cross section of buyers who will also find a large number of yearlings eligible for lucrative Tattersalls bonuses and sales races.”
