Shadwell reveals exciting mating plans for illustrious broodmare band
Taghrooda, Tawkeel and Enbihaar among the high-class mares
Shadwell's broodmare band is set to support some of the leading stallions both at home and at other operations for this year's breeding season, with the brilliant Taghrooda set to visit Lope De Vega.
The Oaks and King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes heroine produced her first winner last term when Almighwar struck twice at Kempton, and the ten-year-old will be joined by Group 3 winner and Prix Maurice de Gheest runner-up Thawaany - a Tamayuz half-sister to St Leger hero Kew Gardens - in visiting the Ballylinch Stud resident.
Tawkeel, an impressive winner of last season's Prix Saint-Alary, will be covered by the mighty Dubawi, who is also set to be visited by Alandalos, by Invincible Spirit and out of the Classic victress Ghanaati.
Another high-class mare set for a superstar covering is Enbihaar. The winner of the Lillie Langtry Stakes and Lonsdale Cup among five Group 2 triumphs, the daughter of Redoute's Choice is set for a first covering by Kingman.
Also among the mares set to visit the Banstead Manor resident are Sweet Solera Stakes scorer Tajaanus, Blandford Stakes winner and Oaks runner-up Tarfasha, and Handassa, the dam of Falmouth Stakes and Sun Chariot Stakes winner Nazeef.
Shadwell will also continue to support Frankel, with Tatweej, an Invincible Spirit three-parts sister to Palace Pier, and Rayaheen, a winning daughter of Nayef and 1,000 Guineas heroine Natagora among his book.
Garmoosha, by Kingmambo and out of Oaks winner Eswarah, has produced the top-class Raabihah and will once again return to her sire, Sea The Stars. The Gilltown Stud resident will also receive Alghabrah, a stakes-placed Tamayuz half-sister to Awtaad, and Maqsad, a daughter of Siyouni who landed the Pretty Polly Stakes.
Home support
Having already announced a star line-up for exciting new sire and last season's Sussex Stakes hero Mohaather, Shadwell's other stallions at Nunnery and Derrinstown will also receive plenty of support.
Commonwealth Cup hero Eqtidaar has had his first foals arrive this season, and among this term's book is Tamadhor, a Listed-placed daughter of Arcano from the family of Royal Ascot-winning two-year-old Memory.
The multiple Group-winning sprinter Tasleet, who hails from the family of the mighty Battaash, will be visited by Mudaaraah, a Listed-winning and Group 3-placed daughter of Cape Cross.
Muhaarar, a champion son of Oasis Dream, was responsible for last year's promising Horris Hill winner Mujbar among nine black-type performers in his first two crops, and Shadwell are sending the nine-year-old the Listed-winning Etaab.
Derrinstown's Tamayuz has sired top-level winners Blond Me, G Force and Mustashry, with the Lockinge Stakes scorer's dam Safwa returning to the 16-year-old this term.
Also among the son of Nayef's book are 1,000 Guineas scorer Bethrah, Masaafat and Rabaabah. Masaafat produced the sire's promising Montrose Fillies’ Stakes winner Zeyaadah, who was unbeaten in three starts for Roger Varian last year.
Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Awtaad will be represented by his first three-year-olds this year and among his book is Rawaaq, a Group 3-winning daughter of Invincible Spirit.
Queen Elizabeth II Stakes winner King Of Change is the latest recruit to Derrinstown and the son of Farhh will be supported by the likes of Qaadira, a winning Mr Greeley mare from the family of Height Of Fashion.
