Search For A Song's brother out to continue family honour at Galway on Tuesday
Sister to Solario Stakes winner Positive to make her debut at Goodwood same day
The Polished Gem story looks set for another chapter as Aidan O'Brien unleashes a full-brother to last year's Irish St Leger winner Search For A Song at Galway on Tuesday.
Kyprios, owned by breeder Moyglare Stud and the Coolmore partners, is not only a brother to Dermot Weld's stable star but also the Listed-winning Falcon Eight.
The juvenile is a close relation to Irish National Stud resident Free Eagle, who sired this year's Derby runner-up Khalifa Sat among the winners of 38 races to date.
The fabulous Polished Gem has produced six black type winners from nine offspring to have hit the track, with the Prince of Wales's Stakes hero Free Eagle topping the list ahead of Search For A Song. Her Medicean daughter Sapphire struck in a Group 3 and was second to Izzi Top in the Pretty Polly Stakes. She has since become a notable broodmare herself, with the stakes-placed Kiss For A Jewel the best of her offspring to date.
Polished Gem did not get in foal when returning to Galileo last year, while she went to Sea The Stars this time around.
Another eyecatching juvenile set for their debut on Tuesday, this time at Goodwood, is Cheveley Park's Nikulina, a sister to last year's Solario Stakes scorer Positive.
The Dutch Art filly is the second foal out of the winning Makfi mare Osipova, who is herself a sister to Sovereign Stakes scorer Zonderland.
Nikulina is also trained by Clive Cox, and her year older brother finished fourth behind Palace Pier in the St James's Palace Stakes this year before going on to be third in the Sovereign Stakes behind Regal Reality.
The mare has since produced two fillies by Ulysses and visited the in-form Showcasing earlier this year.
