Regally bred Prettiest makes a splash on debut for O'Brien at Navan
The daughter of Dubawi is out of the triple Group 1 winner Alice Springs
As a daughter of Dubawi and the three-time Group 1-winning Galileo mare Alice Springs, expectations would be high for Prettiest and the juvenile filly certainly got her career off to the best possible start at Navan on Sunday.
Trained by Aidan O'Brien for the Coolmore partners, the chestnut filly showed a good attitude to pull three-quarters of a length clear of Lopes Gold and will have likely entered many people's notebooks.
Winning rider Seamie Heffernan said: "Her homework suggested that she was ready to start. I was keen to canter down to the start in front because of the way I wanted to ride her in the race. I wanted to ride her forward.
"I'd say she's a nice filly, and she has a beautiful pedigree. She's built like a two-year-old so she should progress into being a nice two-year-old."
Prettiest is the first foal out of the top-class Alice Springs, a daughter of Galileo and the winning Listed-placed Danehill Dancer mare Aleagueoftheirown who struck in the Falmouth, Matron and Sun Chariot Stakes for O'Brien and the Coolmore team.
Alice Springs, who was bred by Lynch-Bages & Longfield Stud and cost 550,000gns from Tattersalls Book 1, is a full-sister to four black-type performers, including Cheveley Park's Ribblesdale and Park Hill Stakes-placed Criteria and Tyros Stakes third Kingston Jamaica.
The eight-year-old is one of a number of top-class daughters by Galileo to visit Darley's supersire, with the likes of Classic heroines Minding and Was visiting the son of Dubai Millennium in recent years.
Prettiest also hails from the same fruitful cross that has produced Qipco 2,000 Guineas hero Night Of Thunder, last year's world champion Ghaiyyath and the Queen's high-class stayer Dartmouth.
