Planteur relocated to Britain to begin new chapter as a National Hunt stallion
Son of Danehill Dancer is the sire of some exciting jumps prospects
Planteur has been relocated to Chapel Stud to begin his new career as a National Hunt stallion after standing in France for the last seven seasons.
Having stood on the Al Shaqab stallion roster at Haras de Bouquetot for five years, the son of Danehill Dancer was then transferred to Haras du Grand Courgeon in 2018 before a deal was brokered by Richard Venn Bloodstock to stand at the Worcestershire-based stud for 2021.
The 13-year-old, who defeated Sarafina and Cirrus Des Aigles in the 2011 Prix Ganay, has produced numerous stakes winners including the Alan King-trained Trueshan, who struck in the Tapster Stakes at Haydock in July, and the Italian Listed scorer Domagnano.
Stud director Roisin Close said: "Planteur is an exciting new opportunity for National Hunt breeders with an exceptional race record and pedigree to match neatly packaged in an attractive, correct and athletic horse with a fantastic temperament.
"By Danehill Dancer, Planteur will hopefully emulate his paternal brother Jeremy, who was an emerging force in the National Hunt scene before his untimely death. We look forward to him joining our other stallions at Chapel Stud.”
Planteur joins Coach House, Hellvelyn and Pearl Secret at Chapel Stud on behalf of owner-breeder Simon Davies.
Davies added: “It was clear early on that Planteur was going to be suited to being a National Hunt sire and we are really excited about standing a quality National Hunt stallion at Chapel Stud with Roisin, who has a first-rate facility and the passion to make this a huge coup for British breeding.”
Planteur's fees and terms will be set at a later date.
