Part 1 of Goffs Land Rover sale to be extended in 2021 after decade of growth
Flagship store sale set for June 8 to 10 and 'tight lid' on quality is pledged
Part 1 of the Goffs Land Rover Sale will be extended to two days in 2021, immediately followed by a one-day Part 2. The sale will take place from June 8-10.
The move follows more than a decade of significant growth for Goffs’ flagship store sale with a top price of €325,000 and, in 2019, the highest median ever for any store sale as well as an average of more than €48,000.
The 2020 Land Rover, which successfully took place against the challenging backdrop of Covid-19 and a local lockdown, saw Goffs’ market share rise once more with the highest turnover of any store sale, while Part 1 cemented its market-leading position with a clearance rate, average and median ahead of all the competition.
The expansion of Part 1 is designed to offer vendors more opportunities to achieve the best price for their best stores at Goffs, while a tight lid will be kept on quality, with between 300 and 400 expected to be catalogued.
Goffs group chief executive Henry Beeby said: “Our aim is to build on momentum and continue the growth of the Land Rover Sale without compromising on quality. This is one of Goffs’ real success stories of recent years, indeed our greatest challenge has been distilling ever increasing demand from vendors into a one-day Part 1.
"The expansion to two days of Part 1 means we can accommodate more vendors who increasingly choose Land Rover as their first choice for their best three-year-olds.
"Our graduates continue to fly the flag for the 'Land Rover type', topping the store sale tables at the Cheltenham Festival more times than any other sale over the past ten years, and our experienced National Hunt team, including our latest recruit Neil Walsh, look forward to working with vendors in 2021 to secure more future Land Rover stars.”
All horses offered across the three days will be eligible for the €100,000 Goffs Land Rover Bumper at Punchestown. Nominations for the Land Rover Sale 2021 are now open online at goffs.com.
