London Sale top lot to run at Royal Ascot for Qatar Racing and Sun Bloodstock
Mohican Heights topped Goffs' boutique auction at £520,000
Mohican Heights, who topped Monday's Goffs London Sale at £520,000, is set to reappear in Saturday's Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot sporting the colours of Qatar Racing and Sun Bloodstock.
The two-year-old son of Australia was signed for by David Simcock when coming under the hammer in Kensington Palace Gardens, but the Trillium Place-based trainer was unable to reveal the name of his clients in the immediate aftermath of signing the docket.
"We looked at the video of his debut, he's an interesting horse and bred to stay and I had a couple of clients who were interested so it's worked out," said Simcock.

"The clients, who are already in the yard, are always on the lookout for a nice horse and he's certainly going to get middle distances so he fitted in well."
The colt, who is drawn in stall one and due to be ridden by Jamie Spencer, showed a determined attitude when making a winning debut at Leopardstown last month. He saw off Lil Grey by a length and a quarter, and that filly gave the form a boost when beating Year Of The Tiger, the Galileo colt out of Tiggy Wiggy, by two and three-quarter lengths on her next start.
That performance significantly enhanced Mohican Heights' value, as he'd been picked up by bloodstock agent Deuce Greathouse for €100,000 at the Goffs Orby Sale some eight months earlier.
Simcock is already well acquainted with Mohican Heights' pedigree, having trained his talented half-brother Curbyourenthusiasm to win four races and run second to Clever Cookie in the Yorkshire Cup.
He also supplied Sheikh Fahad's operation with its most recent Royal Ascot triumph, having prepared Bless Him to land the 2017 Britannia Stakes.
Mohican Heights faces some stiff competition in the Chesham Stakes, a Listed contest over seven furlongs restricted to two-year-olds by sires or out of dams who won over ten furlongs during their own racing career.

Lope Y Fernandez, a €900,000 Lope De Vega half-brother to Dark Vision, looked a decidedly smart prospect when winning by a wide margin at the Curragh, while the sublimely-bred Year Of The Tiger looks certain to step up on his debut effort.
Unbeaten Woodcote Stakes winner Pinatubo boasts the most pressing form claims, while Heaven Forfend, a son of Frankel and the Group 3 winner Heaven Sent, is another with strong pedigree credentials.
