Line Of Duty brother off the mark with yearling relation heading to Book 1
The 1,100,000gns yearling is also a half-brother to Royal Ascot winner Onassis
The remarkable tale of Jacqueline Quest took another turn when her two-year-old colt Act Of Wisdom became the latest of her progeny to win.
Purchased for 1,100,000gns at Book 1 of Tattersalls October Yearling Sales last year, the Galileo colt pulled out all the stops in the 1m2f stayers' maiden at Goodwood on Wednesday.
This is a family that needs little introduction, Act Of Wisdom is a full-brother to the late, fellow Godolphin-owned Line Of Duty, winner of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf in 2018 and placed twice in Group 1 company over a mile at three.
Line Of Duty was a 400,000gns purchase from Book 1 when consigned by New England Stud to Godolphin in 2017, but sadly suffered a fatal injury at home last year following on from his third in the Prix Dollar at Longchamp.
His brother looked to have plenty of stamina himself when seeing off King Frankel at Goodwood and was building on a midfield finish on debut at Kempton earlier this month.
Jacqueline Quest has also produced the Listed-winning Dubawi filly Onassis, who struck in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot for Charlie Fellowes this term, plus the stakes-placed filly Hibiscus, another by Coolmore's perennial champion sire.
A further update to the family tree looks in the offing given another Dubawi half-brother to Line Of Duty and Act Of Wisdom will be offered by New England Stud at Book 1 next month as lot 229.
Jacqueline Quest, whose owner Noel Martin died earlier this year, famously passed the post in front in the 2010 1,000 Guineas but was demoted to second behind Special Duty.
The daughter of Rock Of Gibraltar produced a filly by Galileo earlier this year and returned to Coolmore's stalwart this time around.
