Kodiac gelding Global Esteem tops Tattersalls June Online Sale at 25,000gns
A share in Ribchester sold to Dan Tunmore for 13,500gns
Multiple winner Global Esteem topped the sedate trade at the Tattersalls Online June Sale on Friday when being knocked down to Stroud Coleman Bloodstock for 25,000gns.
A five-year-old son of Kodiac, he ran out a cosy winner on his penultimate start for Chris Dwyer at Leicester last month and was third on his most recent run in a Class 3 handicap at Goodwood.
The brother to Listed winner and Cheveley Park Stakes fourth Terror has won four times overall in his 25-race career and sold to Church Farm Stables for 62,000gns from breeder Tally-Ho Stud at Tattersalls Book 2 in 2018. He then made 150,000gns to Charlie Gordon-Watson at the Craven Breeze-Up Sale the following spring.
Princess Azure, a twice-placed daughter of Air Force Blue who finished second to Moyglare Stud Stakes third Sunset Shiraz at Gowran Park last October at two, looks set for a change of ownership after being bought by Jessica Harrington's Omega Racing umbrella for 17,000gns.
The Barronstown Stud-bred filly is closely related to American winner Bugle Of War, with the pair being out of the winning Jeremy mare Princess Sinead, a high-class performer for Harrington when third in the 2012 Irish 1,000 Guineas.
A breeding right to Darley's second-season sire and champion miler Ribchester went the way of breeder Dan Tunmore for 13,500gns.
The son of Iffraaj has supplied three stakes winners from six black type horses to date, namely recent Queen of Scots Stakes scorer Snooze N You Lose, Doncaster Stakes victor and Sandy Lane Stakes second Flaming Rib and high-class American performer Ruthin.
Tunmore said: "I’m very pleased to have secured a breeding right in Ribchester. I’ve extensively researched the young sires standing in Ireland and the UK and have been impressed by Ribchester’s results.
"I’ve always been a huge fan of his sire Ifraaj and Ribchester comes from an excellent stallion family and is descended from the blue hen Fall Aspen. I think he’ll suit my mares and I’m looking forward to supporting him."
The dual winning Kodi Bear filly Tut Tut sold to Hera Bloodstock from Harrington at 12,500gns. The Jean Brennan-bred three-year-old won twice last term for the leading Irish trainer and is a half-sister to three other winners.
Tut Tut is out of a winning Intikhab half-sister to Cornwallis Stakes winner and UAE Oaks third Electric Waves, the dam of the US Grade 2-placed Appealing, while further back in the page are the likes of German champion Taipan and Sussex Stakes winner Ali-Royal.
Also selling for 12,500gns was the unraced Sir Prancealot mare Lady Sparkles, a sister to a minor winner and out of a half-sister to Listed winner Ruby Rocket, the dam of Prix de l'Abbaye scorer Maarek.
Having been covered by this season's leading first-season sire Havana Grey, she went the way of White Rose Bloodstock.
Overall, just 10 of the 42 lots sold for turnover of 104,200gns, an average of 10,420gns and median of 12,500gns.
