Katsumi Yoshida swoops for Group 1 winners Coeursamba and Incarville
Progressive Tahlie also set to join Roger Varian for Teruya Yoshida
Northern Farm's Katsumi Yoshida has snapped up two of the leading three-year-old fillies in France in Poule d'Essai des Pouliches winner Coeursamba and Prix Saint-Alary scorer Incarville, Jour de Galop has reported.
Coeursamba, a daughter of the ill-fated Prix Morny scorer The Wow Signal, and Incarville, by Coolmore's rising star in Wootton Bassett, will remain with Jean-Claude Rouget and David Smaga respectively until the end of their careers before taking up broodmare duties at Northern Farm in Japan.
Yoshida's agent, Emmanuel de Seroux of Narvick International, told Jour de Galop: "Coeursamba is a Classic winner who won the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches and Incarville won the Prix Saint-Alary. These are two excellent Group 1-winning fillies whose profiles are similar to other good mares bought by Katsumi Yoshida, who has made Northern Farm such a success.
"They will continue their racing career for their respective trainers before joining Northern Farm."
Coeursamba was formerly owned by Abdullah bin Fahad Al Attiyah and had twice been Group-placed at two following her maiden success at Saint-Cloud last June.
Bred by the Mestrallet family, the three-year-old was picked up for €400,000 at the Arqana Arc Sale last October by Haras du Saubous, having cost just €24,000 from Arqana as a foal and then €40,000 from Arqana's V2 Yearling Sale the following year.
Incarville, who was owned by Gerard Augustin-Normand, was a dual winner at two and placed twice in Group company this term before her top-level success, including when second behind subsequent Prix de Diane runner-up Philomene. She was bred by Naji Nahas.
Meanwhile Yoshida's brother Teruya Yoshida of Shadai Farm has purchased Tahlie, a daughter of Rio De La Plata who is unbeaten in three starts this year including in the Prix de Sandringham for Jean-Louis Bouchard and Augustin-Normand.
Gerard Larrieu, racing and bloodstock manager to Bouchard, told Jour de Galop: "Tahlie's career has been very well managed by Pascal Bary and the Prix de Sandringham is a great victory."
