James Garfield nomination up for grabs in Rathbarry Stud online contest
Rathbarry Stud has launched an online competition with a nomination to its young sire James Garfield up for grabs.
Launching on Saturday, the competition requires entrants to answer six questions on James Garfield, whose first foals have been arriving this spring.
Answers need to be submitted on the Rathbarry Stud website before midnight on Saturday, May 2, after which a draw will take place, with the winner to be announced on the following Monday.
“To provide a bit of fun and support for breeders in these uncertain times we've devised a fun competition with a free James Garfield nomination as the winning prize," said Rathbarry Stud's Paul Cashman.
"Judging by the foals we have here on the farm and the feedback from breeders, James Garfield is siring classy individuals with great presence and conformation. I'm hoping they will inherit some of the speed and ability of their sire.”
The winner will receive one nomination to be used in 2020 or 2021.
James Garfield, a son of Exceed And Excel, was a Group 2 winner at two and a Group 1 runner-up at three.
Trained by George Scott for the Gredley family, he was purchased to stand at Rathbarry Stud, where he commands a fee of €6,000 in his second season at stud.
