Invincible Army on the move to Haras des Etincelles from Yeomanstown Stud
Black-type-winning sire Invincible Army has transferred from Yeomanstown Stud to Haras des Etincelles in France in a deal brokered by Jean-Baptiste Brice of Sagittarius International.
The son of Invincible Spirit has sired four black-type performers to date, headed by Listed winners James's Delight, Naana's Diamond and Kitty Rose. James's Delight was also a neck second in the Group 3 Prix de Meautry in August.
Another high-class prospect, The Dragon King, defied a sticky start to land the valuable Tattersalls October Auction Stakes at Newmarket this month.
Invincible Army was bred by Rabbah Bloodstock and went through the Tattersalls Book 1 ring in 2016, selling to Dermot Farrington for 95,000gns.
Sporting the silks of Saeed Manana, the James Tate-trained colt won on his second start at two, having been narrowly denied by subsequent Derby hero Masar at Goodwood that May. He followed up placings in the Molecomb and Gimcrack Stakes with a first Group score in the Sirenia Stakes. He finished that season with a second to James Garfield in the Mill Reef Stakes.
Invincible Army landed the Group 3 Pavilion Stakes on his seasonal reappearance at three and was also a close-up second in the Sandy Lane Stakes to Sands Of Mali. At four, he won his first two starts, including the Group 2 Duke of York Stakes, as well as the Group 3 Chipchase Stakes. He placed at the highest level when third in the Flying Five Stakes to Fairyland.
The now nine-year-old retired to Yeomanstown Stud for an opening fee of €10,000 and stood this term for €5,000.
