'When you speak of the best stallions, Nyquist has to be in that conversation' - Darley star up to a $175,000 fee
A sensational year wrapped up by a smart Breeders' Cup winner has seen the fee for Nyquist more than double to $175,000 at Jonabell Farm for next year.
He is the sire of four individual Grade 1 winners in 2024 including Godolphin's Immersive, who took the Juvenile Fillies in style and is unbeaten in four starts.
Nyquist sired the winner of the same race in 2020, Vequist, and he is now the sire of nine Grade 1 juveniles from his first five crops. Having been available at $85,000 during the last covering season, the Breeders' Cup Juvenile and Kentucky Derby scorer has entered the bracket of truly elite stallions.
He is also the sire of Shoemaker Mile winner and Breeders’ Cup Mile runner-up Johannes, Ogden Phipps winner Randomized and Del Mar Debutante winner Tenma while yearlings at Keeneland September made up to $1.3million.
Darley America sales manager Darren Fox said: "When you speak of the best stallions right now in North America, Nyquist has to be in that conversation. His progeny reflect amazing versatility: short, long, dirt and turf. It really doesn't matter the surface or distance. His best books are his most recent books so all indicators point to continued success in the future."
