Six-length winner a first for Yorton Farm resident Universal
Technological represents the same owners as his sire
Yorton Farm resident Universal supplied his debut winner as a sire when first-crop son Techonological landed a three-year-old handicap at Wolverhampton by six lengths on Monday.
Technological is trained by George Margarson for Abdulla Al Mansoori, whose silks Universal also carried to win the John Porter Stakes, Jockey Club Stakes and Princess of Wales's Stakes in a productive four-year-old season.
The grey colt, winning at the fifth attempt, was bred by Stephen K Isaac and is the first foal out of the Aljabr mare Qeethaara, an eight-time winner for Pat Fahy and later Mark Brisbourne.
Qeethaara is out of Aghsaan, a Wild Again sister to Carter Handicap and Metropolitan Handicap winner and Grade 1 sire Wild Rush.
Technological was bought by Blandford Bloodstock for just 1,500gns as a foal at Tattersalls.
A relatively early Flat winner such as him is a bonus for Universal, as he will likely flourish more when his progeny are sent over jumps.
The son of Dubawi has 35 offspring in his first three-year-old crop, and he covered 54 mares in 2015, 36 in 2016 and 25 in 2017.
Universal stands at Yorton Farm in Welshpool at a fee of £2,500.
